‘Vicious Rumours ‘ is Dutch punk band The Establishments latest record. Hard hitting and angry from the start, the record harks back to the days of 1980’s American hardcore at its best. With its strong foreboding album art work and the opening shot of ‘I’ve got rabies’ The Establishments straightaway show that they are a band of power, passion and intent. Although the album certainly takes influence from the likes of Rollins and Mackaye, the songs importantly do not sound like a throw back from 30 odd years ago and instead sound up to date, razor sharp and ready for punk rock war! Before hearing this record The Establishment’s were off my punk rock radar, however hearing ‘Vicious Rumours’ means they are now not only bleeping on my Radar but they are in fact top of my vinyl pile. This album is certainly Not to be ignored!
