Album Review: Mad Caddies - Punk RockSteady (Fat Wreck)
Artist: Mad Caddies Title: Punk Rocksetady Label: Fat Wreck Release Date: 15/06/2018
Mad Caddies are back and this time with something a little different in the way of a cover's album but they are not your standard straightforward cover version's, Mad Caddies have put their trademark sound on 12 classic punk songs that were apparently hand-picked by label owner Fat Mike himself (and he also makes a little cameo at the end of the Propagandhi cover). There are a selection of songs from many punk greats such as Bad Religion, Op Ivy, Green Day, NOFX, Lagwagon and The Misfits to name a few! Every song has been stripped down and given a classic reggae twist and it is done well...very well. On first listen I was heavily impressed by the way these songs have been transformed but it is not an album that I would have on heavy rotation and can be repetitive and a little monotonous at times, but if you like to sit down relax and skin up a fat one then this could well be the soundtrack to your stoner life, im pretty sure Bob Marley would be jammin' to this if he was still around.
'Punk Rocksteady' is out now and available on CD/LP from Fat Wreck
